Silhouette of Cross Against Sky

Matthew 7:14

But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

- Who are we? -

Cathy Jaye - Vocals, Guitar & Keys

- As a little girl, growing up, I remember vividly being in awe as I watched my mom play piano
effortlessly and with such passion, without ever learning how to read a note of music. She had
sung with my grandpa on the radio back in the day as he played banjo to accompany their
voices. I grew up dreaming about wanting to, someday, have her talent and prayed that I fell
into the lineage of musicians before me.
In High School, I took up playing the saxophone in both the band and marching band. In college,
I played piano and started singing in college productions of musicals, including Jesus Christ
Superstar.
I was cast in a show after college in a musical entitled, Frozen Roses – a cast of two- one
woman, one man. The show ran its course in New Paltz, N.Y. and other venues, with both of us
on stage in song for two hours each performance. We were asked to perform the show off-
Broadway, (NYC). We did two full shows there.
I work with young children and brought some self-taught guitar/sing-a-long music into my
classes as I learned simple chords and watched children so touched by music in joy, peace,
movement and celebration.
During that time, I was asked to work as the musical director for the children’s choir for two
CDs produced by Little Monster Music, Inc. We created two albums: All Together Now, (Beatles
covers), and Soul Ville. We performed many of the songs live cafes and Barnes and Noble in
NYC.
I worked as a duet and did performances and concerts locally.
When my mom went to heaven, I had become a wife and had four beautiful children. I
remember spending time with her as she listened to some of her favorite artists on her
Walkman and she would just smile and be at peace. It was hard for her to speak, but she said I
needed to get my voice on an album and I needed to make music.
Six weeks after she passed, I went to the producer with whom I had made the children’s CDs.
Within six hours, we created a completed medley of Somewhere Over the Rainbow and My
Funny Valentine in honor of my parents, who passed within six months of each other.
I then recorded a children’s CD and was able to share it with my school families. I continued to
work with my friend from the studio and recorded another 5 Christian songs as I had begun
singing on a worship team at my church.
I continue to sing at my church, as well as with other ministries and Christian events.

After many life- changing events in my life, God is bringing music back to me and asking me to
bring Him and music that moves people toward the light, which is where I am living now and
seeking always. I pray that my music is authentic, honest and anointed. I pray it brings hope. I
pray it brings light. I pray that it shines so brightly that my mom and dad in heaven see it, that
the world sees it here on earth, and that Jesus sees it in my heart. I pray that wherever there is
darkness, God uses me to burn bright.

Jeromy Davis - Vocals & Instruments

- Born into a musical family, my mother was a concert pianist, my father played bass guitar & did sound work in the church, and my sister was a flautist. I took clarinet and piano lessons, though they didn't stick. The entire family sang for as long as I can remember, from solos to 4-part harmonies.

I picked up the guitar at 14 and never put it down. I played Peter in my high school's production of Jesus Christ Superstar, along with being a lighting tech for a Christian children's theater.

I did sound work, played guitar, and sang in a few local bands over the years. Played with a Christian 3-piece band (releasing an EP album) & doing some solo recordings in my 20s & early 30s.

Then, I put myself in the way. I walked away from the church. God, and my marriage. I started 'my own' life, and it cost my almost everything. I spent several years playing with a local bar band, falling deep into alcoholism. I pushed away everything and everyone that was good in my life,

* And then the wake-up call happened. *

I had hit bottom. I was so buried, that I had lost sight of the truth. "I don't need help. I'm fine."

It became either my family, or the bottle. So, I put the bottle down. I came crawling back to God. Broken, ashamed, and embarrassed. Only, God didn't see me that way.

I was still His child, and nothing was going to change that.

God (through music) helped me get through the hardest parts of my life. Only He knew how to put me on my feet again.

I now have 5 beautiful children, family that supports me, and a music ministry that I never saw coming.

Now, I give credit where it's due: GOD alone. As soon as I made the conscious choice to put Him first, the path forward was made clear.

I now play in the church, and in other ministries, so that I can bring my experience to the ears of people who need God more now than ever.

I am walking Down the Narrow path that leads us home. The only true path to Joy.

This is my Rebirth story to tell. There is so much more yet to come! 💜
